Shantell Garrett
Policy analyst
Shantell Garrett joined Energy Strategies as a Policy Analyst in December 2024. Before joining the firm, she completed her doctorate in Ecology at Utah State University, where she gained extensive research experience. As a graduate research scientist, Shantell used coding languages (such as R and Python) to run statistical models and analyze data gathered from fieldwork, agencies, or online repositories. She also became proficient in ESRI ArcGIS and Google Earth, enhancing her geospatial analytics capabilities.
In addition to her research, Shantell taught an undergraduate biology course for four years and received the USU QCNR Student Teacher of the Year award in 2022. Prior to her doctoral studies, she spent a decade working in accounting and business operations, which laid a strong foundation in client relations, administrative management, and operational efficiency.
